In the last hours, Embraer announced that its agricultural aviation division managed to sell 19 EMB-203 Ipanema aircraft in February.
This is a total of 27 aircraft of the same type sold so far this year (8% more units sold when compared to the same period in 2020). This is a consequence of the favorable performance of the Brazilian agricultural industry and of the technological innovations made to the new Ipanema´s version.
The greatest demand for Ipanema is found mainly in the Midwest, Brazil’s main agricultural center, although recently the amount of sales has also increased in other regions of the country.
According to Embraer, with almost 1,500 units delivered, the EMB-203 Ipanema is the leader in the agricultural segment with a 60% share in the Brazilian market.
The Ipanema 203, the most updated model in its series, incorporated multiple improvements such as new wing pieces with different geometry and more resistant stainless steel material. This solution slows down eventual wear caused by the severe natural condition of field operations and maintenance costs over the years. And the advanced crop duster also has a new design on the engine hood, with new air outlet grilles to ensure greater cooling.
