Chile: JetSMART transported more than 60,000 doses of vaccines against COVID-19

-

With the transport of 11,700 doses of vaccines against COVID-19 to Calama, Copiapó, Temuco and Chiloé completed last Monday, March 15, JetSMART raised to more than 60 thousand the number of doses distributed in different areas of Chile in the first quarter of 2021.

The company voluntarily participates in the vaccination logistics coordinated by the Chilean Ministry of Health, which also includes the transport of medical supplies and officials in charge of guarding the operation.

“We have already transported more than 60 thousand doses so far this year throughout the country. Since our arrival in Chile, our commitment has been to deliver the greatest connectivity through our direct routes in points that previously did not have air transport. And with this series of multiple deliveries we are consolidating our role as a facilitator of the logistical distribution of vaccines against Covid-19, contributing in a concrete way, from our village as actors of the transport industry” commented Estuardo Ortiz, CEO of JetSMART, through a statement.

JetSMART’s domestic network in Chile covers 36 domestic routes (22 interregional) that link 15 cities: Santiago, Arica, Antofagasta, Calama, Copiapó, La Serena, Concepción, Temuco, Valdivia, Puerto Montt, Chiloé, Balmaceda, Punta Arenas and Puerto Natales. The ultra low-cost also flies from Santiago to Bogotá and Cali in Colombia (the last city also from Antofagasta), to Lima, Trujillo and Arequipa in Peru, Buenos Aires in Argentina, and Foz de Iguazú and Salvador in Brazil.
