Qantas plans to resume Sydney – Santiago de Chile route in October

-

On March 27th 2020, Qantas operated its last regular flight between Sydney and Santiago de Chile due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Until that moment, the operations were carried out in the Boeing 747-400, configured with 364 seats in three classes.

The Australian company planned to start flying between the two cities with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners from June 24, 2020, but the pandemic suspended all intentions that Qantas had for this route.

According to GDS data obtained by Aviacionline, the company will resume operations between Sydney and Santiago de Chile starting October 31st. Qantas will have five operations per week between the two cities on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

Of course, everything will depend on how the epidemiological situation and border restrictions in Australia and Chile evolve, with a particular emphasis on Australia, where those measures have been much stricter.
