Avianca Cancels Bogota – London Flights for 10 days

-

Sunday night the Colombian government suspended air travel between Colombia and the United Kingdom due to the outbreak of the new strain of COVID-19 in British territory.

Earlier today Avianca announced that it will cancel the weekly flight between Bogotá and London at least until January 1, 2021. This week the carrier was set to add two more weekly flights between both cities.

«The company understands and shares that the priority is the well-being and health of both passengers and crews. Therefore, it will be attentive to the definitions of the national government and will continually review the feasibility of resuming the operation,» said in a press release.

They stressed that they have activated a «protection plan» for travelers impacted with confirmed tickets on flights to or from London, and that they will communicate by email to advance rescheduling.
