American Airlines Offers COVID-19 Testing At Home Before Flight

-

Given the numerous travel restrictions in several states, American Airlines decided to offer its travelers the possibility of testing through LetsGetChecked, a company that provides health remote analysis and information, offering the test Sure-track for Covid test consisting of a swab test and a laboratory PCR analysis, with results returned within 48 hours.

By providing this alternative, American Airlines has decided to grant more facilities to its travelers for domestic trips or to those places that still have travel restrictions due to Covid. The idea is to simplify test protocols as travel requirements continue to loosen further. As stated by Alison Taylor, American Airlines Chief Customer Officer, “We have made great strides to help open up international travel with our test partners, and we recognize the need for similar domestic travel solutions.”

LetsGetChecked on domestic trips

The service has started to be offered today December 9 for American Airlines travelers to any state or city that has travel restrictions due to Covid, for passengers with scheduled travel dates starting December 12. Peter Foley, CEO and Founder of LetsGetChecked, stated that “Our COVID-19 home testing exemplifies our mission of empowering people to take an active role in their health while allowing a safe return for travel during this challenging time.”

This service implemented by American Airlines adds to the recent incorporation of the travel tool powered by Sherpa to correctly plan the trips to its travelers by providing information on the local guidelines of each destination, health documentation, and quarantine requirements.
