Cubana and Evelop Plans to Resume Flights between Spain and Cuba

-

Following the reopening of international tourism to Cuba, the state-run airline Cubana de Aviación will resume its flights between Madrid and Santiago de Cuba on November 10 using an Airbus A340-300 leased from the Spanish airlines Plus Ultra.

Avoris charter airline Evelop will restart its services between Madrid and Havana on November 15, subject to the approval of Cuba government, since international flights are still not allowed at Jose Marti Airport. The airline plans to add other destinations in the Caribeen before the end of the year.

“Havana will be the first destination. We see that there is demand for those destinations and we do not want to waste it,” said Paul Verhagen, the company’s new deputy general manager.

Evelop will fly from Madrid-Barajas to Havana with a weekly flight on Sundays, which will increase to two in the week prior to Easter in 2021.

The airline will also resume its flights to Cancun (Mexico) on December 5, and to Punta Cana (Dominican Republic) on December 6, both destinations with a weekly service.
